What is REVOICE?

REVOICE  is a fixed line  Residential and Commercial VOICE service that is complimented by a number of features such as  unlimited local calling on the same island, unlimited on-net family island calling from one REVOICE phone to another REVOICE phone, low long distance rates,  and over 12 features such as Caller ID, voicemail and other CLASS features.

Will I be able to keep my existing line?

With all the new features and functionality of REVOICE, there will be no need to keep your existing phone line.

Will I be able to keep my existing phone number?

Number portability is not available in the Bahamas at this time, but it’s currently under consideration by the Utilities Regulation & Competition Authority (URCA) and should be launched in 2013.

What are the costs of the different packages?

We have 3 package plans with bundle prices and unbundled prices and they are as follows:

What are the features and are there additional charges?

All calling features listed below are FREE! The following multiple features are included in the calling packages:

How will I be billed?

Your Revoice bill will be sent out monthly, the same as with cable and internet bills.

What happens if my account is disconnected?

If your account is disconnected, you will not receive service until you bring your account up to date.

What happens during power outages?

Your equipment is provided with a backup battery which can provide up to 6 hours of power – the exact amount of time is dependent upon your use during a power outage if you have cordless phones, make sure those also have battery back up!  

Moreover, should there be any technical issues, Cable Bahamas Limited provides a special feature – Call Forward Dependable – allowing all incoming calls to be forwarded to a phone number of your choice.

How many phones lines can I get at my residence?

Most persons will only require one (1) phone number at their residence. However, the basic EMTA has two (2) ports that can provide two (2) different phone numbers. 

How many phones can I connect to one (1) number?

The industry standard is 5 phones.  Adding more may result in a deterioration of service.

Will I be able to sign up for voice without having your TV or internet products?

YES, REVOICE is being offered as a standalone fixed line product. However, there are significant savings when bundled with REVON.

Can persons in the Family Islands sign up for this service?

REVOICE is offered in Nassau, Grand Bahama, Abaco and Eleuthera.

Will I be able to see all records on Bill View - Channel 810?

You will be able to get a summary line of your calls from Bill View. However, call record details will be available online through ‘MY ACCOUNT’. You can sign up by visiting cablebahamas.com

Does REVOICE work the same way as traditional phone service?

YES.

Can I use other services (watch cable TV, surf the Internet) while using REVoice services?

YES YOU CAN, Thanks to the power of broadband technology, Cable Bahamas Limited can provide a whole range of products supplied through the same coaxial cable, without interfering with TV viewing or web surfing.

What number do I call for billing issues?

In Nassau – 601-2200, Technical Support – 601-8900 and in Grand Bahama -350-8800

Will my new number be in a directory for my friends to obtain?

YES with your permission your number will automatically be placed on our online directory.  If you wish to add your details to the printed directory, you will need to apply at the Bahamas Telecommunications Company Limited (BTC) Directory Publication Office, which currently provides this service.

Will additional wiring be required to implement REVOICE?

If you use a cordless system, you will not require additional wiring.  However, if you wish to connect to your existing home wiring, your additional wiring will be required.

When calling from my new REVOICE number to a mobile, will there be charges?

Only if you have to dial a 1 before the number.

Can I buy phones from Cable Bahamas?

NO, Cable Bahamas Limited does not sell residential phones for this service.

Will cordless phones work on REVOICE?

YES.  Remember to purchase phones with back up battery supply if you wish your phones to work during power outages.

Will my fax machine work with REVOICE?

YES. Fax machines will work with REVOICE service.

Will I be able to call emergency numbers on REVOICE, i.e. 911 etc.

YES. REVOICE will work with all emergency services.
