Sandra Knowles, Director
Ms. Knowles has had a distinguished career, spanning more than two decades, in education, private banking, finance and print and electronic media. Following a successful career as an educator, Sandra joined RoyWest Trust Corporation (Bahamas) Limited, which became Coutts & Co., where she gained extensive experience in the areas of international investment and private banking.
In 1993, she was appointed the first female general manager of the Broadcasting Corporation of the Bahamas. During that period she supervised and implemented a multi-million-dollar equipment and systems upgrade at the National Television Broadcasting Station - ZNS 13. She was appointed in 1997 as the first female inspector of the Securities Commissions of the Bahamas and attained the position of CEO in 1999. In 2004, Ms. Knowles became a consultant to the national daily newspaper, The Nassau Guardian, and was an advisor on improving the company’s products and productivity. For the past 15 years, she has held numerous company directorship positions including with Franklin Templeton Bank & Trust; the Hotel Corporation of the Bahamas, where she served as Deputy Chairman; Bahamasair Holdings Limited; as well as ex-officio Director of the Securities Commission of the Bahamas.
Presently, she sits on the boards of Colina Imperial Bahamas Holdings Limited and The Winterbotham Trust Limited.
