John Gomez, Vice President, Engineering
Mr. Gomez has garnered over 30 years of professional experience in the field of engineering. He joined Cable Bahamas Ltd. in 2001 as Director of Engineering and was subsequently promoted to the position of Vice President of Engineering in 2003. His responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the strategic management and operation of the technical operations of multiple cable systems in support of the organization’s goals and business plans. Prior to this, Mr. Gomez has spent almost 20 years in senior positions with the Bahamas Electricity Corporation (B.E.C), where in his final tenure, he played a critical role in designing, specifying and installing a capacitor bank at a power station which facilitated the maintenance of voltage levels at an optimal level during peak periods. He was also responsible for the installation and commissioning of four of the largest power generation units to be installed on the island of Eleuthera. Mr. Gomez have obtained extensive general and technology-specific training related to the design, operations and maintenance of such electrical systems, and has managed the implementation of major projects associated with implementing power and telecom systems throughout the Bahamas.
