Anthony Butler, President and CEO

Mr. Butler joined Cable Bahamas in January 1999 as Vice President of Engineering and was promoted to the positions of President and COO in 2003 and CEO in 2010. He served on the Board of Directors in 2006. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Caribbean Cable Telecommunications Association (CCTA) from 2001 to 2008, and in 2003 served as Chair.

During his tenure, Mr. Butler has been an integral part of the executive team, which has seen the successful launch of Cable Bahamas’ broadband Internet services and commencement of Caribbean Crossings, Cable Bahamas’ submarine fiber network to link the principal islands of the Bahamas with Florida. 

Prior to joining Cable Bahamas, Mr. Butler served as the Director of Public Works for the Government of the Bahamas from 1995. He received his education in the United Kingdom. As a professional engineer, his career started in the design offices of a large engineering group, where he was promoted to ever-increasing levels of responsibility. Mr. Butler moved with his family to the Bahamas in 1990. Mr. Butler was one of the recipients of the Government of the Bahamas’ prestigious Silver Jubilee Award in 1998, which is presented to those who contribute to nation building, on the 25th anniversary of Bahamian independence.
