Mr. Paddick is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Columbus International Inc. and its operating subsidiaries, Cable Bahamas Limited, FibraLink Jamaica Limited, Columbus Trinidad Limited, Columbus Networks Ltd. and Columbus Jamaica Limited. Columbus Trinidad, FibraLink, Columbus Networks and Columbus Trinidad are private companies, while Cable Bahamas trades publicly on the Bahamas Securities Exchange. Mr. Paddick was President & CEO of Persona Communications Inc. until August 2004. Persona provided cable television, digital cable, high speed Internet, commercial data and telecom services to a diverse base of residential and commercial customers in seven Canadian provinces.
He has extensive experience in constructing and operating world-class terrestrial and submarine broadband networks as well as extensive capital market experience having raised in excess of $2.5 Billion in debt and equity financing. In addition to sitting on Columbus and Cable Bahamas boards, Mr. Paddick serves on the Board of Directors and the audit committee of Clearwater Seafoods Income Fund, a public Canadian company that is the world's largest harvester and processor of shell fish and Atlantic Lobster. He has been a member of the board of directors of the Caribbean Cable Television Cooperative since 2005 and serves on the board of directors of the Caribbean Cable and Telecommunications Association (CCTA). He is a former director of Fishery Products International Limited, where he was the Chair of the Growth and Investments Committee. Brendan served as a Member of the Board of Regents of Memorial University of Newfoundland for six years. He was also a member of Industry Canada's National Broadband Task Force in 2001, a government initiative to shape the country's roll out of ubiquitous broadband access.
Born and raised in Grand Falls, Newfoundland, Canada, he holds both a Bachelor of Commerce and an MBA from Memorial University of Newfoundland. In 2000, he graduated from the prestigious Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Harvard University in Boston, Harvard's global executive MBA program.
In 2000, Mr. Paddick was named one of Canada's Top 40 Under 40 by Caldwell Partners and the Globe and Mail's Report on Business Magazine. Canada's Top 40 Under 40TM is a national program founded to honor Canadian leaders who have reached a significant level of success but have not yet reached the age of 40. He has also been named one of Atlantic Canada's Top 50 CEO's by Atlantic Canadian Business Magazine on three occasions, and was Memorial University's Faculty of Business Alumnus of the Year for 2002.
In 2006, he was appointed Honory Consul for Canada to the Bahamas by the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
