The Cable Bahamas Cares Foundation (CBCF) is a non-profit charitable organization funded by Cable Bahamas Ltd. and specifically focused on the funding of individual and organizational educational programs, including educational research and publications. CBCF derives its base funding through an agreement with Cable Bahamas Ltd., which will donate 1% of its net income to the Foundation annually. CBCF although established by Cable Bahamas Ltd. operates as an independent body with its own Chairperson and Board of Directors. All Board members are residents of the Bahamas and no employee of Cable Bahamas can serve as a voting member on the Board. In May of 2006 CBCF celebrated the achievement of a total grant disbursement of just over 570,000 to some 130 local youth groups. The registered office of The Cable Bahamas Cares Foundation is situated at the premises of Cable Bahamas Ltd., Executive Annex (Robinson and Marathon Estates), Nassau, Bahamas.

CBCF was incorporated on the 8th day of September, 1999 and was granted license under Section 14 of The Companies Act (1992). The establishment of the Foundation came after much deliberation as to how Cable Bahamas could fulfill its role as a corporate citizen in a truly significant way. What the company sought to do was to give back to the community in a way that was productive, developmental and accessible to Bahamian youth, yet lasting in its effect on the community.
