Cable Bahamas reveals its extensive action plan following Hurricane Sandy

Even before Hurricane Sandy was leaving flooding and damage in its wake, Cable Bahamas crews and response teams were activated to deal with the aftermath.

According to John Gomez, vice president of engineering at Cable Bahamas, “The company’s operations and executive teams met via conference call two to three times every day at the height of the storm as it passed through the country. This regular contact ensured that adequate response and resources were deployed to the areas that most needed them.”

On Wednesday afternoon, Cable Bahamas' Hurricane contingency plans were immediately implemented for all Islands to ensure the safety of our employees. Cable Bahamas' hurricane preparedness programme is designed to ensure that our system is fully prepared for a natural disaster. Proactive steps were taken to protect our networks and at the same time be responsive to our customers’ demands in the aftermath.
