9:17pm: Please be advised that work is still ongoing at this time. REV TV services have been restored to the affected subscribers and work to restore Internet services is now being carried out. No estimated time of restoration, however.

BPL crews are currently investigating.  REV will actively monitor the situation.

5:40pm: BPL reports that investigations are still ongoing.  The cause of the outage remains unidentified. REV will continue to actively monitor.

8:00pm: Commercial power is restored in Western New Providence.  All affected services are restored.

3:28pm: The outage in Cable Beach, Twin Lakes and Oak Hill Road is due to fibre signal loss. Further investigations are conducted. Updates will continue to be posted as they are received.

4:33pm: The technical team has identified the issue and is working to restore services. Updates will continue.

7:00pm: There is a reported outage in the Sea Beach Estates due to a BPL power outage in the area which has been restored. The technical team will investigate. Please standby for further updates.

8:35pm: All affected services in Sea Beach Estates are now restored.

 

November 7, 2018

8:16am: The technical team is still working to identify the issue in Gladstone Road. Updates will be posted once available.

8:58am: REV services are now showing online. Investigations are still being carried out, however, to identify the cause of the service impact. Monitoring is being done to measure stability.

11:27am: Maintenance work is being conducted in the Garden Hills/Kenniston area to replace a faulty equipment. Please stay tuned for updates.

12:00pm: All affected services in the Garden Hills/Kenniston area are restored.

 

November 6, 2018

10:30am: Please be advised that there is a maintenance work being performed in Cowpen West that causes services to become unavailable. The work is expected to last for the next half hour.

12:11pm: There is a reported outage in the Yamacraw Shore area and REV services are expected to be intermittent in the next two hours. We will post an update once available.

2:30pm: There is a reported outage in Oakesfield/Davis Crawford Street. Maintenance work was scheduled to troubleshoot and correct intermittent services. Updates will be posted as they become available.

3:00pm: Affected services in Yamacraw Shore are now restored.

3:43pm: Maintenance work in Cowpen West is completed. REV services are now restored.

 

November 5, 2018

8:03am: The technical team is expected to continue investigations in the Sea Breeze/Imperial Park area this morning. We will post an update once available.

11:05am: There is still significant delay with investigations in the Sea Breeze/Imperial Park area due to access issues as the suspected location of the damaged fibre cable is still inaccessible. The technical team is conducting additional assessment to perform a workaround fix to bypass the inaccessible damaged span of fibre cable. At the moment, no restoration time has been estimated. Updates will continue.

1:50pm: The technical team is still onsite in the Sea Breeze/Imperial Park area doing the workaround plan to correct fibre fault. Still no time of restoration can be reported at this time. Updates will continue.

1:56pm: There is an emergency maintenance activity being conducted in the Corner/Jerome Avenue area. The exercise which is expected to last for the next half hour.

3:30pm: The technical team has gained access, has determined the damage and are in the process conducting repairs. Estimated time of restoration is within 1 hour. Updates will continue.

4:19pm: The technical team has completed repairs on damaged fibre which was caused by a tree trimming exercise yesterday afternoon. All REV services are now restored in Sea Breeze/Imperial Park.

 

November 4, 2018

10:17am: Please be advised that there is a reported complete service outage in Joe Farrington Road & Sea Breeze areas. The technical team will be investigating the issue. Updates will be posted once available.

11:03am: The technical team has confirmed that problem is related to a fibre signal fault. Updates will continue to be posted as they are received.

11:38am: The cause of the outage in Joe Farrington Road & Sea Breeze has been determined by the technical team and are troubleshooting at the moment. Complete restoration of services is estimated to occur at 12:30pm.

12:08pm: The source of the fibre fault may be related to a tree trimming exercise carried out by BPL. The technical team reports that troubleshooting is currently being done. Updates will continue.

12:41pm: The estimated time of restoration for Joe Farrington Road & Sea Breeze has been extended to possibly another hour. Updates will continue.

1:03pm: The technical team is still searching the area for the exact location of fibre damage. All signs point towards fibre damage out in the field. Updates will continue

1:10pm: An additional fault was identified in the node which requires a replacement to be installed. Estimated time of restoration is now by 2pm. Updates will continue.

2:37pm: Node services continue to be off at this time. Unfortunately, node was unable to be restored by 2pm. Attempts are being made to contact the island’s technical team for an update. Will continue to try and provide an update as it becomes available.

2:41pm: The technical team remains in the node areas investigating the fibre fault. More updates to follow.

3:46pm: The technical team is still on location where the suspected fibre damage has been identified. Update stated that there is a delay with access to the location of the damaged cable. There is no estimated time of repairs and restoration of services at this time. Updates will continue.

8:48pm: The technical team is still in the Sea Breeze/Imperial Park area where the suspected fibre damage has been identified. There is a delay with access to the location of the damaged cable because it’s in the back of a customers property. Updates will continue.

9:50pm: The technical team has still not gained access to where the damage may be so work will resume at first light when access is granted.

At 10:00 a.m. Tuesday March 21st, Cable Bahamas experienced service issues on its video network. This resulted in multiple channels across New Providence, Abaco, Grand Bahama and Eleuthera experiencing intermittent service outages. Technical teams immediately launched response protocols and began investigations. Multiple vendors were engaged to assist Cable Bahamas' engineers in troubleshooting the issue. Due to the malfunction of a major piece of equipment repairs have taken longer than anticipated.

8:59am: BPL has reported that commercial power failure in Northern Bahamas is related to plant equipment. Crews onsite are actively working to resolve. The estimated restoration time is within 2 hours.

9:17am: The commercial power in North Eleuthera is restored. Affected REV services are back online.

4:00pm: There is a reported outage in Governor’s Harbour. The technical team has been advised to investigate. Updates will be posted as they become available.

7:00pm: The technical team found out that the customers affected in Governor’s Harbour are located in different nodes therefore assistance cannot be provided yet. Updates will follow.

8:00pm: After continued investigation, the technical team was able to locate a damaged fibre located on Banks Road. A fibre technician is already scheduled to travel to the island in the morning and is expected to assist in this matter.

8:25pm: Repairs will begin in the morning once the fibre tech arrives on the island. The break is affecting direct fibre customers at the Pineable Fields Hotel.

Community Announcement for a Power Cut scheduled for this morning Saturday, November 3, 2018 in North Eleuthera, from BPL:

Bahamas Power and Light Company Ltd. (BPL), wishes to advise its customers in Eleuthera that the Company is currently working to facilitate overhead line construction and tree trimming exercises on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018 for a period of four (4) hours, beginning at 8:00am.

As a result, consumers in the Eleuthera area will experience a disruption in their electricity supply.

1:46pm: Please be advised that there is a reported complete service outage in Bluff, Eleuthera due to a utility power failure. BPL has not advised an estimated time of restoration. However, the REV Team will continue to closely monitor until the power is restored and the node responds back up.

3:00pm: The technical team has reported that that services are apparently offline due to a short. Troubleshooting is currently in progress, however, there is a delay due to inclement weather. As soon as the weather clears, the technical team will continue with troubleshooting. Updates will continue.

6:18pm: Restoration of services in Bluff is expected within the next hour. Updates will continue.
