Cable Bahamas advised today that a portion of their subscribers were without cable TV and Internet services on Thursday and Friday last week when critical equipment failed. The company immediately dispatched crews and replacement units to Eleuthera where repairs were immediately carried out.
A total of 272 households in The Bluff, Lower Bogue, Palmetto Point, Savannah Sound and Tarpum Bay were affected by the interruption. All customers that were affected were contacted by phone to advise them of the issue, and that crews were working to restore services as quickly as possible.
By early Saturday morning all but 20 subscribers had been full restored, with the remainder seeing full restoration of cable services by mid-day Saturday.
Cable Bahamas stated that those customers that are receiving fibre optic-based services were not affected by the outage.
The company stated that it highly values its subscribers throughout the entire island of Eleuthera and assures their customers that every effort was made to minimize the extent and time period of the interruption of services.
