1995

Cable Bahamas completed a $30 million public equity raise, with 3,000 Bahamian shareholders gaining ownership. This marked the beginning of a publicly held, community-owned telecom provider.

2000

We launched broadband services using a wholly owned submarine fibre-optic cable system. By year-end, we had grown over 750% and reached 15,000 subscribers.

2010

We announced plans to acquire Systems Resource Group (SRG) Limited, becoming The Bahamas’ first fully 100% Bahamian-owned, triple-play provider offering voice, data, and video.

2011

We announced plans to acquire Systems Resource Group (SRG) Limited, becoming The Bahamas’ first fully 100% Bahamian-owned, triple-play provider offering voice, data, and video.

2012

We digitized our Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial (HFC) network and enhanced TV offerings with Interactive Video on Demand. This improved quality and choice for customers across the country.

2013

We expanded internationally by acquiring four Florida-based telecom companies — our first U.S. venture. This move opened access to new markets and diversified our revenue streams.

2016

Cable Bahamas was awarded the second mobile license — allowing us to begin LTE rollout across The Bahamas and launching our Mobile Brand ALIV.

2019

We announced plans to acquire Systems Resource Group (SRG) Limited, becoming The Bahamas’ first fully 100% Bahamian-owned, triple-play provider offering voice, data, and video.

2020

Despite global challenges from COVID-19, Cable Bahamas delivered uninterrupted service and record resilience. Our mobile brand, ALIV, won its first Ookla Speedtest Award.

2021

We announced plans to acquire Systems Resource GroupWe reached a major milestone, earning over $200M in annual revenue. ALIV was again recognized by Ookla for The Bahamas’ Best Mobile Network, reinforcing our leadership in mobile connectivity.

2022

We rolled out ALIVFibr in select communities and secured a third Ookla Speedtest Award. Our investment in fibre continues to raise the bar for home connectivity.

2024

AlivFibr passes 90,000+ homes continuing to connect The Bahamas, one home at a time.

2025

ALIV and ALIVFibr received 5 awards from Ookla including the Fastest Fibre network in The Caribbean and Fastest and Best Mobile network in The Bahamas- reinforcing our commitment to providing best in class service to our customers.
